IIA appoint Roseanne Smith as Membership, Marketing and Communications Manager
The Irish Internet Association is delighted to announce the appointment of Roseanne Smith as their new Membership, Marketing and Communications Manager. With the addition of Roseanne to the IIA team, it is hoped that the IIA’s capacity to liaise with members and to promote and communicate the IIA’s events and services will increase. This will ensure increased opportunities for IIA to connect, inform and promote on behalf of the membership.
A Dubliner, Roseanne Smith has a BA in Drama Studies and Modern Irish and a M.Sc. in Multimedia Systems from Trinity College Dublin. She will complete a M.Sc. in Social Research Skills from University of Ulster in May 2008. She joins the IIA having worked in localization, television production and most recently in the Irish Language Voluntary Sector with Comhdháil Náisiúnta na Gaeilge managing Information and Communications projects.
On taking up her position Roseanne said, "I couldn’t have started at a better time! With the IIA Congress on May 15th I will get a chance very soon to meet many of the members."
The IIA Congress 2008 takes place in Croke Park on May 15th 2008. The theme of this year’s Congress is "Beyond Websites: Business Uses of Social Networking and New Media". There has been an explosion of social networking sites into our lives, and Congress 2008 will show the impact that social networking has had on business, successful integration of social networking into organisations’ business models and why it takes its rightful place as part of any company’s business tools.
Speakers will include leading industry professionals from Bebo, Dell, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Microsoft, IGOpeople.com and Worldwide Cycles. The Congress will be chaired by Maeve Kneafsey, Managing Director of Elucidate and the IIA Chair.
A NEW feature of Congress 2008 will be Web Strategy Clinics. Delegates will have a chance to book a one-on-one 30 minute slot with industry experts who will analyse their online strategy and advise on the best course for their business in confidence.
The successful Breakout Sessions run in past years are back by popular demand! They will run over an extended period again by request, giving more people a chance to attend the sessions and in order to give as much time as possible to all your questions. This year breakout sessions will cover online marketing, the mobile Internet, how to calculate the net worth of your business, web design, email marketing and eCommerce.
